Registration Now Open: Kitale Volunteer Trip 2017

Registration is now open to join this years group of volunteers heading to Kitale! This June a group of Africa Direct volunteers will be working in Kitale, Northwest Kenya, alongside our partner the Good Shepherd Sisters Kitale. This is the forth trip of its kind, with the previous years' groups having great success (see the pictures and stories in the documents at the bottom of this page). Ethiopian Highland Trek 2016

2016's trek has been set for 21st of October! 14days in Ethiopia: Trekking in the Wollo Highlands, staying in local communities (in good huts funded by Irish Aid through community tourism schemes), sharing tea/coffee ceremonies, watching and joining dances, sit down toilets with views over the valleys and a bucket shower. Walking around ancient ground rock churches in Lalibella, sailing across lake Tana around 3 of it's islands full of old monasteries, and seeing the source of the Nile. Visiting our partners projects in Addis Ababa and the highlands. 2016's Itinerary

Blog: Africa Direct Student Workplacement in Kenya

Deirdre Sheehan is currently on work placement in Kenya for 6 months.
