Leading a trek in the Ethiopian Highlands in 2015, Passage West born Martin Coughlan visited a small local school. Built of mud walls on a wood frame, it was leaning over precariously. The children were squeezed three to a desk on rough earth floors. With too many children for the few classrooms they have two shifts morning and afternoon. Registration is now open to join this years group of volunteers heading to Kitale! June 30th to July 13th a group of Africa Direct volunteers will be working in Kitale, Northwest Kenya, alongside our partner the Good Shepherd Sisters Kitale. This is the fifth trip of its kind, with the previous years' groups having great success (read the comments at the bottom of the page).
